Continuity Exercise

Match on match action is a type of editing where it cuts from one shot to another view that matches the action and pace of the first shot. It creates an impression of continuity editing even though the filming may have been filmed weeks apart. A visual bridge is created if a character begins an action in the first shot and completes it in the next. This is created as it hides the cut from one to another.

Shot reverse shot is usually used in a conversation where it is edited with one person in a shot, then another shot of the other person in a shot, then a shot of the first person again.

The 180 degree rule is when the shots are taken one side of the scene or action. This technique helps the audience to understand exactly what is going on or the conversation in the scene.

I worked with Christy on this task and we filmed it in school. We both planned, filmed, edited and put the same amount of work and effort in.
