Location

Yesterday on 30th January, me and christy were in the middle of editing when we both realized that our location didn't suit the theme of our opening which is thriller. We thought my house looked too family orientated so we have decided to film at christy's house instead where it is more empty and would suit the thriller theme more.

Filming

Yesterday on the 25th January, we started filming at my house. When we were filming we found ourselves changing our story board because we thought of better ideas that would look more effective. For example having the girl in the lounge while the tv turns on without her controlling it numerous times. Because i have windows in my lounge we took an outside handheld shot so it gives a suggestion someone is watching her. Another shot we added that we liked was a close up with the camera on the floor of Jessie taking off her shoes. We thought that shot would be great for a title to go over it.

When Jessie was acting in front of the camera me and Christy were really pleased because she really suited the part and was very confident and professional on camera.

Date of Filming:
We filmed on tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th of January.
Location:
We are filming in my house and outside on my road. The reason we are filming in a house is because we thought it would be the best suitable place to create a thriller. The types of shots we will be using in our short opening of a film are close ups, over shoulder shots, establishing shots, wide shots and hand held filming.
Possible risks involved:
Because we are filming in an inclosed space there is a risk of people tripping over the equipment. When we are filming outside on the road, christy and i had to ensure that we did not cause any inconvenience to the members of the public or holding up any traffic.
Eliminating risks:
We have made myself responsible to make sure nobody trips over the equipment.

Titles

Today in our lesson Christy and i sorted out where we want our titles placed. We realized that it is important to have the production company at the beginning of every film opening. Because we had 'Channel 4 productions' later on in our title sequence we then had to re order it and put it at the beginning. Our story board with titles is now completed in a correct order.

Filming

On tuesday 17th January, Christy and i will be continuing to film after school for our short opening of a film. We have booked our tripod and camera which we'll be filming with. And now have a drama alevel student who will be acting in our piece.

Planning - Story Boards

Today in lesson time, Christy and i drew out our story boards and took still images of them. Our opening of a film has now been planned and ready to be filmed. We are now thinking about where our titles could fit in and are suitable to go over our still images. We have uploaded the still images and are edited on final cut express.

Film Opening Research

Over the half term Christy and i researched online and gathered information that could help us for our film opening. We found things to include which were:
Titles - Directors name, title of the film, characters, production company.
Music
We are planning to include all of these things in our opening of a film.
